i think glue sticks (EVA, PA, PO, TPU, etc *wiki hot-melt adhesive) is also polymer material like plastic (PP, PET, PE, etc). which is more likely have similir characteristic and also thermoplast.
But each one have very different specific properties such as melting temperature, and viscocity.
The lowest melting temp here i think is LDPE (98-115 Celcius). but i dont know bout the viscocity, things for sure higher temp makes lower viscocity and would make it run a while before it sets. But carefull not to burn them 😀
i think u should be ok with 1hp 70rpm. at least when shredding plastic with decent size/thicknesa.
better is to make motor counter rotation for when its clogged
I think only HDPE #2 that is safest to reuse as food container.
Also, maybe you should consider what process (and or what mold material) used to recycle the plastic material.
PET #1 , LDPE #4, PP #5 commonly is one time used.
yes, everything from 1 sheet of 10mm SS. for the gap i’ll try to grind the knifes & big fixed knife maybe around 0,1mm. hope it works…

i already finish shredder machine.
i also test it to shred seaweed. turns out to works well, very good actually. since its soft the production reach around 100kg/hr.
