We recycle pet in massive quantities (over 1000 tonnes/ month here in India)
1. You can try using anti oxidants (2 %w/w)
2. Pre heating is must and that material should immediately be shifted to moulding to extrusion process after pre heating ( warm material)

Also, a lot of additives or master batches will be added to the product sold by IKEA, to give it hardness and shine (look up vistamaxx for example)
It changes product and its properties to a great extent.
I mean , I am not sure what they add but it can be a compound of different materials also and may not behave as 100% LDPE Material should

Its is called POY, PTY,PSF etc.
We recycle these yarns.
We make a product that is called polyester popcorn or polyester densified material
