@s2019 Thank you for your comments, yes I tried changing the gear ratio, with better results. We are working now on an old shredder design (double shaft) we think it could work better.
Yes we use a flywheel.
we are also thinking to add a washing machine, well is more like a big liquidizer. I will upload a video, when ready.
In regards to your workshop, I would like to share our experience for the last 1 year. In total we have collected 967,32 kg of plastic.
When we started we collected unsorted plastic, soon we realized we couldn’t manage the quantities received.
Our moto for the last year has been “recycling begins with your choices in the supermarket”
Collection: we have established a collection point at the back of our shop, where neighbours bring households plastic items washed, dry and separated by themselves into the four main plastic resin categories (normally found in a house).
Sorting: The main sorting is done by colours and in the case of PET bottles of water or soft drinks, by brands.
Pre-washing: We have the system that you develop, very similar (hope to post a picture soon)
Washing: ultrasonic washing
Drying: We have a very simple drier machine we build.
Storing: Beside the storing area we have overflow storing space
I don’t have any good pictures or even relatively good, but below you can see the profiles from some of our social media where we have uploaded some machines pictures.
All the best!!

Can’t wait to cooperate in all the aspects you mentioned.
You can count with our team to help in anyway possible – especially here in Greece, where we’re so far behind plastic recycling.
Well done and let’s do it “like-minded plastic heroes”
I live in Greece, Athens. We are in the process of opening a workshop (Plastikourgeio), although we haven’t finish our machines yet, so far the more expencive one have been the shredder (aprox €500).
I’m building the 4 machines and already failled with 2 motors, the website you provided is awesome! Thanks! you can download the specs.
I will get mine from the supplier you are proposing but it seems the price they provided me defers from yours, do you think you can share your specs here to double check.
I’m also living in Athens and looking forward to the opening of our new workshop, please let me know if I can help your shredder.
Don’t know if you already did your workshop, but we are part of a Dutch initiative call Makers Unite, let me know if is worthy for you to get you in contact with them.
